I lost several hours of sleep today to stay up and make a white chocolate macadamia cheesecake (with a graham cracker crust, of course) for a potluck at work tonight. I’m pretty sure it will be worth it. It certainly smells worth it and the batter was pretty yummy. I’m drooling just thinking about it, heh.
In other news, the total loss check finally arrived for my old car. Woot! Know what that makes today?
Yup, brown shoes day.

I only caught a small bit of the movie about Charlie Chaplin with Robert Downey Jr. when it came out in 1992, which Mym thinks is a crime. So, we’ve been canvasing the local Blockbusters and Hollywood Videos trying to find it. No one has it. The stores are filled with the latest releases, anime (a good thing, I must admit), and older movies like “10 Things I Hate About You” and “Crossroads”. I mean, come on! Where are the classics? Where are the AWARD WINNING movies? Apparently, they’re not profitable rentals, which just boggles the mind.
So, we’re going to try Netflix. If they have it, I may never go to my local store front again.

Finally, there’s a new soup recipe to try! Unfortunately, it’s pea soup. Yuck. Granted, I’ve never had fresh pea soup, which may make all the difference, but I’ve never liked the versions I have tried so far and probably won’t try this one because I can guarantee you that no one else in the house will even get within 3 feet of it.
It’s a waste of a great bowl of peas, if you ask me. There’s nothing like fresh, raw vegetables right off the vine and just a touch warm from the sun. Mmmm.
